A Memory Care Unit
CCHS has geared up for the next significant change in our community and baby boomers. CCHS has expanded their campus to gear up for the needs of a growing population in our community. They have added a Memory Care Unit in the Pine Ridge Assisted Living facility.
This specialized environment includes 17 apartments, open common areas, circular walking patterns inside and circular walking paths outside in garden areas. Residents of the Memory Care Unit with dementia have a safe and secure environment. CCH understands the special type of care those diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's disease require.
The staff has been trained to care specifically for the needs of those who suffer from dementia. CCHS operates the Memory Care Unit under social model versus a medical or clinical model. They understand the need for constant adjustments to the resident's day to minimize frustrations and anxieties that can occur in daily life when one is living with dementia.
The following is a schematic of the unit.
